A Class Of Its Own

Cadillac teases its 2023 Le Mans entry

Cadillac is throwing its hat into the new 2023 IMSA GTP course with a new prototype dubbed Undertaking GTP. This race car or truck will mark the brand’s return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans following a two-ten years absence.

The Dallara-dependent prototype will be run by a new Cadillac engine paired to the frequent hybrid program mandated by the GTP course, which will welcome earlier entries from Le Mans Hypercar (LMH) and Le Mans Daytona h (LMDh, previously DPi) to a one, tier-a single prototype racing course.

“While the new race auto will choose into account IMSA and ACO polices, Cadillac’s brand properties will be quickly recognizable, several of which are witnessed on our V-Collection autos today,” explained Chris Mikalauskas, direct exterior innovative designer, Cadillac. “It will artistically mix type and operate to influence the improvement of the forthcoming race auto. Elements of Cadillac’s brand DNA, these types of as vertical lights and floating blades, will be present throughout.”

The remaining Cadillac GTP car or truck will be proven this summertime, but it will not hit the track until finally the 2023 Rolex 24 at Daytona.
